Scojectment stands for SCOut proJECT manageMENT and was created in 2011 by Don Krause, Scoutmaster of Troop 51 as a practical tool to establish consistency in delivery of a ‘boy led’ program / experience. The first efforts were made with a document called “What Who Do Plan Go” and evolved with the interest in delivering within PMI’s (project management international) IPECC framework — Initiate, Plan, Execute, Control, and Close. A tool that put all of the necessary questions, forms, and needs in front of the people who needed it, in a way that is easy to understand and use.
This post will act as an introduction with every Scojectment Specific being individually documented.
The goal behind Scojectment was to answer this question I had as a Scoutmaster… How can I expect a Boy to train another Boy to lead a Big Event and each be more successful?
Scouting teaches so many skills and offers numerous leadership opportunities…. Memorizing all the positions was easy… getting the Boys to understand who is responsible for what and when they need to do their job was the tricky part… That is for a Troop with no Adults holding prior Scouting experience.
