The Best Scouting Leadership Experience Anywhere!!!

Dear Boy Scouts: 13 year old and older, Venturers, and Explorers,

Has your Scoutmaster, Venture Crew Advisor, or Explorer Advisor told you about the best life changing Leadership experience in the Boy Scouts of America?

Are you sharp enough to wear the National Youth Leadership Training patch? Or are you adventurous enough to complete La Grande Portage, and wear the coveted Bay-Lakes NYLT Paddle device? You have just enough time left to register for this summer, and still get the Early Bird Discount!

Two sessions of National Youth Leadership Training will be offered to choose from at Camp Hiawatha, near Munising, Michigan again this year. Transportation from selected locations is included. Traditional NYLT is our proven and popular course scheduled for June 18-24 with room for 84 participants. Pack and Paddle NYLT is scheduled for July 8-16 and is a couple of days longer than the traditional course. The course work of Pack and Paddle will be similar to the traditional course, but will have the added adventure of backpacking or canoeing to primitive backcountry patrol sites each day. Pack and Paddle participants also need to have recently passed or be able to pass a BSA swim test, own a good backpack and boots, and be able to eat trail food for a week. 36 participants will be accepted for Pack and Paddle NYLT.

NYLT participants undergo a life changing leadership experience, as they join a model Troop patrol environment, and learn leadership through classes, presentations, projects, and most of all practice as they live, work, and lead as a team. Traditional NYLT participants live and work together in a Boy Scout Summer Camp environment, while Pack and Paddle participants live in a Backpacking and Canoe Trek environment.

Both Courses offer a $20 discount if they are paid in full by April 1.
