Webelos Scouts: October 7, 2017 (with the option to camp overnight to the 8th)

Bear Paw Scout Camp
Mountain, WI

We are excited to be Introducing Bay-Lakes Council’s first ever weekend STEM event, hosted at Bear Paw Scout Camp!

What is STEMpede? Scouts, guided by dedicated leaders and Merit Badge Counselors, will see how; science, math, and physics make projectiles shoot into space, how we impact nature, and explore the wonder of space. STEMpede features Scouting program activities incorporating STEM learning with cool Scouting activities.

All Webelos, Boy Scouts, and Venturers are welcome to sign-up for a weekend full of STEM merit badges and adventure pins. These STEM activities and Merit Badge opportunities will take place Saturday while the Program Directors have Friday night through Sunday morning packed with many more STEM events. Guest appearances by Trebuchets, Catapults, Cannons, Rockets, Airplanes, Bridges, Towers, Boats and many more! Many Scouts will have the chance to build a trebuchet and launch at a target, be challenged by code breaking or bridge
building, or be able to start fires by unconventional means. The Scouts have the potential to leave camp with up to 2 merit badges or 2 Adventures for Webelos, but more importantly, they will have had the opportunity to get their hands on multiple STEM activities and learn the hows and whys of each of them.

Any Webelos attending over night on Saturday will have an additional $10 cost.

Bring your tents and personal gear and be prepared to have an astronomically good time. Meals will be provided along with the inaugural STEMpede t-shirt and patch. T-shirt orders will be completed on September 5th. Registrations after this date are not guaranteed a shirt.

Registrations are time stamped and Scouts will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis for programing, as space is limited, to those who are registered and paid online.
